It's okay; it's worth it. I'm out here for a glimpse inside Tesla's Gigafactory, days before its official grand opening. Read More

Who wore it better: Melania Trump or Joyce Beatty?

On Thursday night at the Democratic convention, Ohio congresswoman Beatty hit the stage in a white dress that looked remarkably similar to something we saw at the Republican convention last week.

In the ultimate Throwback Thursday, those white puffy sleeves took us right back to Melania Trump's speech. The speech was less about the dress she wore and became about how she lifted some of her speech from Michelle Obama's 2008 address to the Democratic convention.

The folk of Twitter were quick to point out the balloon-sleeve, white number looked like it may have been plagiarized straight from Trump. The copy cat move is either the biggest burn in the convention or the two ladies have impeccable, matching style.  Read more...

The Importance of Understanding Your Painting Services Estimates

Most homeowners prefer hiring Kitchener painters to paint decks and the interior or exteriors of their homes, roofs, and fences instead of doing it themselves. However, on receiving the estimates for the projects, they fail to understand how their painting companies arrived at particular figures. What clients fail to understand is that, when coming up with painting estimates, the experts consider loads of factors.

Every Space is Unique

Each surface has its needs as far as painting is concerned. Some may need single coats of paint while others may need three. Some walls have imperfections such as water stains, dents, and nail pops that require repairs before the painting can commence. The last painting job of a home may entail the use of lead-based paints. Only lead-safe painters can work in such homes as they have the training and equipment to handle such jobs. All these factors may contribute to the painting services estimate your contractor will give you.

A Look at the Different Types of Paints Professional Painters Use

The products used for a painting project will dictate how good it turns out. When hiring painters in Kitchener and Cambridge, one consideration to remember is checking the quality and suitability of products. Paints come in different types and grades, and they all have specific roles to play. Typically, the type of pain that painters use will depend on the surface.

Water and Oil-based Paints

Water-based paints are suitable for surfaces that are not too demanding. The choice of water-based paints is due to their quick drying times, uncomplicated clean up, and flexibility with finishes. These paints also offer colour stability, meaning there is no yellowing of surfaces over time.
